Awesome! You are almost done with your Invisalign treatment!

Time to expect for appointment: 1 hour - 1 1/2 hours

QUICK OVERVIEW OF WHAT TO EXPECT WITH REMOVAL

There is no numbing needed for this. We will remove any and all attachments, this does require the use of our handpiece. Once attachments are removed, we can polish and smooth teeth. If there is a tooth or teeth, a chip, a tooth with wear that you want us to smooth please let us know THIS IS THE TIME. Once the attachments are off an teeth are smoothed, we will scan and look at the bite and check to be sure all of your teeth look great. If there is something you are concerned with, let us know, otherwise if we see something we think can be improved we will let you know. We will then take photos.

IF EVERYTHING LOOKS GREAT

The next step is retainers. Keep wearing your last tray until the retainers come in, once they do we will give you a call.

RETAINER COMMITMENT

Retainers are for life. For the first six months you’ll wear them just like your trays, only you don’t eat in them. The reason you wear them for six months after treatment is when moving teeth, you move through bone, therefore bone has to fill in where the tooth moved from. The process of bone filing in takes about six months, if you only wear them at night your teeth WILL move during the day and at night you will move them back with the retainer, so the bone never fully fills in. After six months you wear them at night. We recommend replacing your retainer every 2 years as they stretch out and wear out.

IF WE NEED TO TWEAK A FEW THINGS

We will order additional trays, this means more time and we will be placing attachments back on, and in some cases may need to do additional IPR. Once the trays come in we will call you to get scheduled.
